The Concept of Keywords as an Internet Sales Force.
Even if you are a one-person proprietorship, you can use SEO keywords as a tactical sales force, bringing people in from search engines and from other parts of the web, and introducing them to your site, directly.
There are about 34 thousand keyword searches a second on Google, and in theory, all of these searchers are within one click of discovering your website. The practice of SEO is meant to use keywords to find the best customers for you out of the millions of searches that occur each day.
You must select the right keywords, then “work” the hell out of them, as if you were a talent agency and those words were a group of your celebrity clients.
Or for an analogy that speaks more to how the search engines view your external links, think of your company as a football team, and the group of words you choose to put SEO energy into become your players, out to “score points” on the web for your site.
You will put those words on your site, in places both seen and unseen, and then you will acquire links out on the web, on other people’s sites, that also contain those keywords. You should blog using these keywords, and optimize the rest of each blog post to enhance the way Google will look it the next time it comes back to read your site.
A Link back to your site is like scoring some SEO Points, as long as the link meets certain criteria.
